Social Media Updates...
PTA NEWSWIRE – The 114th National PTA Convention was a social media affair. From live tweets and blogs; mobile polls and general updates; webcasts; and passionate online discussions, there was high energy that reached across the digi-scape. We debuted our PTA Blogger Café to host popular authors and bloggers from Sue Scheff, Dad Labs and Parenting to share the PTA experience with their audiences. Parent Involvement is a movement and our social media activities are taking it online.

National PTA and Facebook Announce Partnership!
Renee Zucano D'Agostino
This is a commendable effort to bring this issue to the forefront. Many schools touch on this topic but dont really take enough time to educate about the dangers of surfing the internet and unfortunately, some kids wont take it seriously enough unless presented in a structured setting by a seemingly authoritative individual (yes, parents apprieciate... See More pamphlets but some children,I believe are more receptive to Teachers and the like...Kudos and THANKS to the PTA and Facebook>I hope Nyack Public School will implement this program through our PTA. :)
Sue Grodek
CNN picked this up!
Judge Glenda Hatchett (TV's "Judge Hatchett") will serve as keynote speaker for the EMLC luncheon

I was fortunate to be at the EMLC 2010, and had the honor to hear Judge Hatchett speak. She is an awesome WOMAN OF GOD and her words were very inspiring. Thank you Judge Hatchett!!

So glad you still have everything posted. I am still trying to decompress and absorb all of the wonderful information. Thank you for all of the great work PTA does for my children and all children!
Texas textbooks re-write history
Danielle Hawkins
What I don't understand is how the people that want to change our children's textbooks aren't scholars or historians!!!! I'm not understanding that at all. And if they get the opportunity to do this, how wrong and misleading our youth could be!
Collin Robinson
This is just proof again that parents need to play a larger part in the education of their children. It's not enough to assume that what they are taught in school is all they should be taught.
Also not enough to think that a single viewpoint is correct, or more correct than any other. Take the North and the South during the civil war, both are a part of the history... should one side not be taught?
Steph Johnson
They may re-write it, but they cannot deny it. It is our duty as parents and community members to remember our past. Good and bad.
Check it all out here and let us hear from you too!
